On 12th November 2015 at the CaixaForum in Madrid, the teaching awards Premios Magisterio, Protagonistas de la Educación took place, highlighting the efforts made by many to incite change from within the education sector.
At the event, the Director of the National Centre for Teaching and Thinking (NCTT), Roberto Swatz, gave the opening speech and presented 10 awards for educational initiative.
Macmillan Education, who participated as a business partner, had the honour of awarding the Special Mention for Teaching to Cristina Rueda, headmistress at Minerva Children’s Education Centre. Swatz presented the award alongside Marta Martinez, our CEO for Spain and Western Europe.
The event was attended by the Secretary of State for Education, Marcial Marin, the Minister of Education of the Community of Madrid, Rafael van Grieken, the Minister of Education, Culture and Sport of Castilla la Mancha, Reyes Estevez and the Minister of Education of Cantabria and the School Board President, Francisco López Rupérez amongst other authorities, headteachers, teachers and professionals in the education sector.
