Agreement between Escuelas Católicas Madrid and Macmillan Iberia
On the 18th July 2014, the President of ECM (Catholic Schools of Madrid), Sister Concepción Viviente, and the CEO of Macmillan, Marta Martínez, signed the renewal of the partnership between the two institutions, which consolidates Macmillan as their chosen partner in the field of teacher training in the bilingual education programme, BEDA.
Over 250 schools in the Madrid autonomous region are currently part of the BEDA Catholic Schools bilingual programme. In the next school year, this programme will be extended to five more autonomous regions: Andalucía, Canarias, Castilla La Mancha, Galicia and Murcia. BEDA is also active in schools in Aragón, Asturias, Extremadura, Navarra and Valencia.
BEDA is a flexible program that effectively helps to improve the teaching of English, always in line with teaching standards in other subjects, the educational programme and the values of each school. It is lead by Escuelas Católicas Madrid, Macmillan and Cambridge English Language Assessment.
The training provided by Macmillan covers methodological and language training that strives to keep teachers at the cutting edge of pedagogical best-practice and helps ensure the success of bilingual school
